How the checker reads your answers

Urgent finance is a race between two clocks: the date the money is due, and the time it realistically takes to arrange the right kind of funding. The checker lines those clocks up. It doesn't guess at approval — it looks at the facts that most often decide how fast a file can move, then tells you which pathway is likeliest to finish before your deadline.

    1. The bill and the deadline

What must be paid changes the conversation. Wages can't be pushed back without real harm to your team, so payroll is treated as a hard deadline. An ATO debt or a supplier account often has some room if you make contact before the due date, so the checker suggests buying time where that's realistic. A deposit or a time-limited deal has a contract date that usually can't move. The deadline you pick is converted into business days, because weekends and public holidays don't count for settlements, valuations or bank transfers.

    2. Property: the size-and-speed lever

Property-secured business loans run from $20,000 to $5,000,000 over residential or commercial property, as a first mortgage, second mortgage or caveat. For speed-sensitive cases, $20k to $250k is possible same day and up to $5m is possible within 24–48 hours when the security and paperwork line up. If equity is tight or you're unsure, the checker marks secured finance as possible rather than strong, because a valuation and your existing lender's position will decide it.

    3. Turnover, trading history and credit: the unsecured lens

Without property, unsecured and cash-flow options typically run from $5,000 to $500,000, and they're sized on turnover and bank statements. The checker compares the amount you need with what flows through the account each month. A modest amount relative to turnover reads as a strong fit; a large one reads as a stretch. A short trading record or credit issues lower the rating, but they don't rule you out — past credit problems and ATO debt are considered case by case.

    4. Documents: the part you control

Most delays in urgent finance aren't the lender deciding — they're waiting for a statement, an ID, a rates notice or the invoice itself. The readiness bar shows how much of the likely paperwork you already hold for your pathway, and the "prepare now" list shows exactly what to gather while you enquire. See the full funding readiness checklist for what each document does.

What to do with your result

If the checker shows a clear pathway, start the 60-second enquiry and mention what it suggested. If it says to buy time first, do both at once: contact whoever you owe today, and get the enquiry in so funding is already moving. Our pages on finance needed today and secured versus unsecured when time is short go deeper on each path.

Whatever the result, the promises are the same. Asking costs you nothing on your credit file. Your enquiry goes to one team rather than being passed around a list of lenders. A real person reads what's due and when, then calls you. The one thing we ask is that the form is filled in accurately — especially the amount, the deadline and any property — so the first option we put in front of you is one that can genuinely land in time.

    Questions about the triage checker

Is the checker's result an approval or an offer?

No. It's a triage — a structured first look at what's due, how long you have and what you already hold. It points you at the pathway most likely to finish in time and the gaps to close. A lending specialist confirms what's actually possible once they've seen your details.

Does using the checker affect my credit file?

No. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere or saved — it runs entirely in your browser. Even when you go on to enquire, there's no credit check when you first ask what's possible.

Why does the checker ask about property?

Property is the biggest single factor in how much can be arranged and how fast. Property-secured business loans run from $20,000 to $5,000,000, with $20k to $250k possible same day and up to $5m possible within 24–48 hours. Without property, unsecured and cash-flow options typically run from $5,000 to $500,000, sized on turnover and bank statements.

Why does it ask about turnover instead of profit?

Unsecured and cash-flow lending is mostly sized on what flows through your business bank account. Turnover and the pattern in your statements tell a lender how comfortably repayments fit. Profit still matters, but for urgent unsecured money the statements do most of the talking.

What if the checker says to buy time first?

That means the deadline is shorter than the realistic time to fund what you need. Contact whoever you owe before the due date, ask for a short extension or a part-payment arrangement, and enquire at the same time so funding is moving while you negotiate. Our guide to what gets done in time explains how to have that conversation.

Can I use the result when I enquire?

Yes — mention the pathway it suggested and which documents you have ready. It saves time on the first call. Please still fill in the enquiry form accurately, because the details there are what we match you on.

    No credit check to ask

Finding out what's possible leaves your credit file alone. A credit check only comes up once you choose to go ahead.

    Not farmed out

Your enquiry isn't blasted to a list of lenders. One team works out the right match, so your phone stays quiet.

A real person on your deadline

Someone reads what's due and when, then calls to talk it through. Accurate form answers mean the right option first time.

Got your triage? Put a real person on it

A one-minute enquiry with no credit check to ask. Your details go to one team, not a pile of lenders, and a real person calls to map out what can realistically land before your deadline.
